Barbara Goldberg Goldman | Founder & Co-Chair

Ms. Goldberg Goldman is the founder of the Affordable Housing Conference of Montgomery County and has served as Chair since its inception in 1991. She is a Partner with Quorum, LLC, a land-use consulting firm specializing in mixed use and mixed income developments. She co-chaired County Executive Ike Leggett’s Transition Team’s Housing Task Force and Governor O’Malley’s Transition Team’s Workforce Housing Task Force. She also co-chaired The Affordable Housing Task Force of Montgomery County. Ms. Goldberg Goldman served on the Housing and Economic Development Subcommittee on Governor Ehrlich’s Commission on Housing Policy.

A graduate of Leadership Montgomery, Ms. Goldberg Goldman was a Commissioner and Chair of the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County from 1987 to 1998. She served in President Carter’s Administration at the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Community Planning and Development, where she worked with Congress on housing policies and programs including UDAG, CBDG and the 312 Rehabilitation Loan Program. Prior to HUD, she was with the National League of Cities and U.S. Conference of Mayors as the Director of the Washington, DC offices for San Jose, California, Lincoln, Nebraska and the Metropolitan Toledo Consortium. She served as Special Assistant and Speech Writer for Houston, Texas Congresswoman Barbara C. Jordan and Legislative Aide to Oakland, California’s Congressman Ron Dellums. Ms. Goldberg Goldman has served on many affordable housing and related panels and forums throughout the United States.

Ms. Goldberg Goldman is a member of numerous non-profit Boards of Director including Strathmore Hall Foundation, Save A Child’s Heart, AJC Washington, NJDC (Executive Committee) and Chair of the NJDC’s Women’s Leadership Network. She is a recipient of many awards and recognitions including the 2011 recipient of Montgomery County’s Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Humanitarian Award. She holds a Masters Degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Maryland.
